A one-of-one original, this piece was painted entirely without a brush. Instead, I used whole blooming carnations and roses, the delicate blooms of pom pom chrysanthemum, and fresh leaves as my tools—pressing, lifting, and layering each natural form onto the canvas. The result is a quiet garden of pink and magenta blossoms drifting across a spring-green ground, with the gentle impressions of foliage woven throughout. Every mark is unique to this single canvas; no two will ever be the same.

Autumn Magic

Autumn Magic is a 12 x 12 in original painting on stretched canvas, made with acrylic, floetrol, and texture — and with locally foraged leaves and dried rose petals pressed into the artwork itself. The leaves were imprinted into the wet texture, and floetrol was spread around each area while the imprint was forming, letting the natural veins and edges leave their own mark beneath swirling layers of crimson, gold, and deep plum. Flower Fireworks
